MDEP Highlights
August 03, 2009
Today’s MDEP Highlight includes results from a recent demonstration on a
Caterpillar D9 Dozer at Whayne Supply. On July 23 and 24, 2009, Whayne
Supply Company, at its corporate headquarters in Louisville, Ky., hosted an
introductory event focusing 100 percent on Mirenco technology to fellow
Caterpillar distributors interested in becoming Mirenco products and service
providers. The two-day event included an evening dinner on July 23, with
presentations and on-vehicle demonstrations of Mirenco technology on July 24.
Representatives from six Caterpillar dealers were on site for the event with
additional representatives from another eleven Caterpillar dealers joining the
presentation portion of the event through a web-hosted conference. For

C-Max Demonstration on a Caterpillar D9 Dozer
A C-Max was installed on a D9 dozer to demonstrate first hand to visiting
Caterpillar representatives what C-Max technology is capable of. Using
C-Max technology to match the engine's fuel injection to it’s real-time ability
to burn fuel resulted in a reduction of DPM (Diesel Particulate Matter) from
23.7 to 9.1 percent, representing a annual fuel savings of over 2,600 gallons
and a reduction of more than 1,000 pounds of DPM exiting the tailpipe.
Caterpillar representatives were impressed with the immediate difference that
C-Max technology could make. Caterpillar representatives were further
impressed when they learned that this demonstration was on a certified rebuilt
engine with only 4 hours. C-Max technology has proven itself to produce
impressive results on most engines including this newly rebuilt engine.
