MINING COMPANY ORDERS DRIVERMAX-CX TO SAVE FUEL AND REDUCE EMISSIONS

RADCLIFFE, Iowa-- (MARKET WIRE)—October 6, 2004--Mirenco, Inc., (OTCBB:MREO) announces a leading national mining company has ordered seven of the newly developed DriverMax—CX product to save fuel and reduce emissions due to current strict air quality standards. The underground mining industry is currently under close scrutiny by the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) for air quality concerns. MSHA is expected to tighten regulations by 2006. The order was placed while an intense test of the DriverMax—CX was being conducted.

“The DriverMax—CX has shown a 68% decrease in diesel particulate, which has created a buzz in this large mining company that has 13 additional underground mine operations as well as many times that in above ground mining activities. Additional orders of the DriverMax—CX for the other operations are anticipated in the near future,“ stated Dwayne Fosseen, CEO.

“Filters and other retrofit devices as well as additives have been used in the past to reduce emissions. The DriverMax—CX not only is proven to reduce emissions, but also provides the opportunity for payback by saving fuel. Since many of the large mining vehicles burn 40,000 to 60,000 gallons of fuel per year and with the current price of diesel, this equates to thousands of dollars in annual savings. This has opened up a whole new market in the off-road construction and mining industry,” Fosseen elaborated.

Designed especially for industrial and construction equipment with digitally controlled diesel engines, the DriverMax—CX is available for installation along with Mirenco’s Combustion Management Program (CMP), which includes opacity and 5-gas analysis and monitoring four times per year to maintain engine performance.

The DriverMax® technology is a patented automated fuel management system that matches fuel flow with fuel demand to allow an engine to operate as efficiently as possible. DriverMax® was co-developed with the Department of Energy by the same team that makes missile guidance systems. This technology was also acknowledged by the Department of Energy as one of the “100 Best Technologies In The 20th Century.”
