Mirenco, Grant Brothers Bring Salesman on Board in Toronto
RADCLIFFE, Iowa--Mirenco, Inc., and its new Canadian distributor, Grant Brothers
Sales, will provide a full-time salesman to begin marketing Mirenco's products
in the greater Toronto, Ontario area.
Last month, Mirenco established its first-ever Canadian distributor for its
diesel engine retrofit technology through Grant Brothers Sales, one of Canada's
largest manufacturers' representatives for heavy-duty diesel and automotive
parts. The two companies this week agreed to terms for a full-time salesman in
Toronto, a metropolitan area of more than 4 million people.
"We are extremely pleased to have Dan Ford selling Mirenco's
emissions-reducing technology full time in greater Toronto," Mirenco CEO Dwayne
Fosseen said. "We know this is an excellent market for Mirenco because of
Ontario's progressive clean-air standards, which are among the strictest in
North America."

John Grant, president and CEO of Grant Brothers Sales in Mississauga, Ontario,
shares that enthusiasm." We are excited for this opportunity to begin selling
Mirenco's products full time through our established network in greater
Toronto," Grant said.

Ontario's Drive Clean program requires heavy-duty diesel vehicles to pass
a strict clean-air opacity standard before license plates can be renewed. The
Drive Clean program requires opacity of 55 percent or lower for 1990 and older
vehicles and 40 percent or lower for 1991 and newer vehicles. Opacity measures
the amount of light that is blocked by soot and other particulate matter in
tailpipe exhaust.
In April of 2004, Ontario's standards will get even tighter, with a maximum
opacity of 45 percent for 1990 and older models and 35 percent for 1991 and
newer models. And, the regulations get even stricter in 2005 to 40 percent
opacity for 1990 and older and 30 percent for 1991 and newer. All school buses,
regardless of model year, will have to meet the stricter opacity standards.
Ontario's Ministry of the Environment proclaims that the 2004 emissions
standards will be the strictest in North America for heavy-duty diesel vehicles.
"These strict standards are great news for Mirenco, because our technology has
been proven to substantially reduce particulate matter emissions for all types
of heavy-duty diesel vehicles," Fosseen said. Mirenco uses the Society of
Automotive Engineers J1667 opacity test in its vehicle management program, the
same test used by Ontario's Drive Clean program.
Mirenco's technology works proactively by significantly reducing the formation
of soot in the engine. DriverMax prevents unburned fuel from going out the
tailpipe as soot, by delivering only as much fuel as the engine needs through a
throttle delay that can be programmed through a hand-held computer. Mirenco's
system not only cuts emissions, it saves fuel and extends the life of the
vehicle.
