Mirenco Signs Contract For National Public TV Program

RADCLIFFE, IA—August 13, 2002--Mirenco, Inc. (OTCBB: MREO) announced today that the company has entered into an agreement to be profiled in a story about Iowa’s Bus Emission Education Program (BEEP) on the American Environmental Review series, a public television program hosted by Morley Safer. The series features stories on various technologies, products, or services that have significantly contributed to a better environment.

The program will highlight how Iowa schools are working to improve the environment through the education of vehicle combustion and fuel management on diesel school buses. The mission of BEEP is to make Iowa school buses the cleanest and best-maintained fleet in the USA within five years , and educate students about vehicle emissions and their effect on human health and the Earth’s atmosphere.

In October of 2001, Mirenco introduced a plan to reduce tailpipe emissions from Iowa’s school buses and educate students about vehicle emissions to several state and private organizations. A partnership was soon formed after a national school bus health study announced Iowa school buses threaten children’s health.

BEEP is supported by funds from private organizations and businesses through the non-profit branch of the School Administrators of Iowa.

The proactive efforts of Iowa’s schools in reducing tailpipe emissions will be viewed by an estimated forty eight million people nationwide.

"We are very privileged to be a featured guest on the American Environmental Review series," Dwayne Fosseen, CEO of Mirenco, said. “The Iowa school bus project is applicable on a national level to the 500,000 school buses nationwide. We believe the program may be the first step in introducing it to other states."

In addition to the story feature, Mirenco will receive a video copy of the feature to further promote Mirenco’s products and customer service program within their marketing plan. The filming is scheduled for the last week of August, and will air on public television in the month of October later this year.
