Louisville City Buses To Undergo Regular Emissions Testing and Evaluation 

Mirenco supports fuel management technology with ongoing testing program

August 23, 2001, Radcliffe, IA –-In an effort to maintain the improved emissions and fuel savings of its fleet, the Transit Authority of River City (TARC) in Louisville, Kentucky will enter into a service agreement with Mirenco Incorporated that calls for regular testing and reporting services for its buses. 

TARC currently uses Mirenco’s DriverMax®, a fuel saving and emissions control device that helped the fleet eliminate approximately 11,000 pounds of pollution while saving approximately 43,000 gallons of fuel in one year. Under the agreement, Mirenco will test emissions on 130 buses and re-program, as needed, the 95 DriverMax®-installed buses three times over the next 12 months. 

“This is a logical next step in our effort to reduce bus pollution and save fuel,” said J. Barry Barker, TARC executive director. "The on-site service plan gives us a cost-effective way to accomplish our environmental goals." 

The on-site testing services will be provided by Mirenco’s Louisville, Kentucky based service center, Diesel Injection Services Co., and Mirenco will provide their proprietary analysis and reporting through data interchange over the Internet.
