DriverMax Honored In Top 100 Technologies of the 20th Century
Radcliffe, IA - Mirenco is pleased to announce that our DriverMax®
technology has been named one of the “100 of the best scientific and
technological accomplishments of the Department of Energy” in the Energy 100
Awards.
The DriverMax® concept was invented as a core component of a larger fuel
injection system by Dwayne Fosseen, founder, Chairman and CEO of Mirenco. Mr.
Fosseen’s concept was subsequently engineered under a joint development
agreement with the United States Department of Energy (DOE) Kansas City Plan
(KCP).
As stated in the original joint development Program Description:
“KCP engineers were tasked with determining if it was possible to take the
driver out of the emission loop and create a fuel management system that was
based on vehicle speed, road grade, gear state, and wind resistance. This was to
be accomplished without sacrificing vehicle safety and without raising operating
complaints from vehicle operators and passengers. The KCP developed a
microprocessor-controlled system which analyzes the vehicles operating
conditions and controls the alternate fuel injection rate. This new electronic
device optimizes many conditions and provides better emission reductions.”
The resulting core technology, DriverMax®, was subsequently patented in the
United States, Mexico and Canada. The DriverMax® product carries the DOE seal
and an exemption number certificate from the California Air Resources Board.
The ENERGY 100 Awards honors 23 years of the best scientific and technological
accomplishments the Department of Energy has to offer since the DOE opened its
doors in 1977. A distinguished citizen panel of judges was asked to select the
top 100 based on three criteria:
- Did it have a consumer orientation?
- Did it save money?
- Did it improve the quality of our life?
The DOE is committed to saving consumers money and improving quality of life.
Mr. Fosseen, commenting on the DOE programs said, “This clearly demonstrates how
public investment can make a difference in our world. The DOE’s efforts are
paying off both environmentally and economically.”
Mr. Fosseen further stated, “Our second development agreement with the DOE KCP
is underway, and our rollout plan is quickly unfolding. Air quality and fuel
supply are issues that aren’t going away. The world is ready, and we intend to
leave the world a better place with our technology.”
